You’re invited to The AMAAD Institute’s second annual Summit of Our Tribes! The Summit is a two-day conference uniting community leaders and organizations in support of Black LGBTQ+ wellness.

Come participate in creative healing workshops, raise questions for our brilliant panelists, and catch a highlight reel screening of the Crystal Diaries documentary. Stay for a special guest appearance by Congresswoman Maxine Waters!

The conference will be held at the USC Galen Center’s Founders Room over two days:

Thursday, June 29th – from 9 am to 5 pm, followed by an onsite mixer from 5 to 7 pm, and

Friday, June 30th – 9:30 am to 1 pm.

You’ll spend two days in the company of thought icons, medical professionals, political organizers, elders, community advocates, and Black LGBTQ+ cultural icons and legends. And you’ll come away knowing how to:

Think critically and take action around policies targeting drag and gender expression,
Speak up about health disparities in the Black and Brown community,
Live into the joy of allyship,
Tailor your organization’s practices to honor the experiences of LBTQ+ women,
Connect with community elders to strengthen our cultural bonds,
…and much more.
